For National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week, Uplift Irondequoit joined lunch periods at EIMS and Eastridge throughout the week. Students had lots of fun playing alcohol and drug trivia and earning prizes!

In honor of Pi Day, EIMS 7th grade math students measured different circular object and then determined the value of pi by dividing the circumference of the circle by its diameter. #LancerPride

Students at EIMS participated in a Portraits of Peace community-school project this week where they discussed how they can achieve peace in different settings. Students created canvases where they expressed what peace means to them. These canvases will be displayed in both EIMS and eventually businesses in the community. The project was made possible through grant funding from the M.K. Ghandi Institute for Nonviolence. #LancerPride

They were also joined by special guest Mr. Williams from Garber Auto Group. Ms. Sullivan's ELA classes at EIMS participated in a Book Tasting! Every table was set up with books of varying levels for different genres. Students recorded their ratings of the books inside a book tasting menu. While they read and explored, they had snacks and shared with peers. The activity helped build interest in reading and expose students to genres they might not otherwise choose to encounter. #LancerPride
