EIMS 6th grade social scientists in Ms. Davis’s class acted as Superheroes for Equity using AVID inquiry and writing strategies to learn about the experiences of Puerto Rican Americans who moved to Rochester in the 1960s and 1970s. They learned about Felix Montalvo, the first Latino police officer in Rochester and Roberto Burgos who advocated for bilingual education in the Rochester City School District. #LancersLEAD

Do you have a special, unique or weird talent? If so, what is it? “I asked my wife this one. Her response -Your unique talent is always supporting your family after full days supporting students and staff at school...Oh and being able to take a nap at anytime!”
Can you play an instrument or sing? What is your musical background? “Negative ghost rider. I can hold a beat dancing but that’s about it. I love Jack Johnson, Nikko Moon - positive good vibes music. I also grew up with A Tribe Called Quest and love embarrassing my children playing and dancing to that.”
Are you creative? What do you like to make? "Cooking is a passion of mine and I enjoy doing it with my kids. I really love it and like to try anything!"
