In our rapidly evolving world, it's essential that our students understand and navigate artificial intelligence (AI). We want to make sure everyone in our school community understands AI Literacy or how to use AI responsibly, especially Generative AI tools that can create new content. These tools can be really helpful in education, but they also come with risks that we need to manage carefully.

AI refers to computer systems that can do things that normally need human intelligence. Generative AI, in particular, can make new text, images or music based on what it's learned from its training. You can learn more by reading our FAQs below.

While these tools can be very useful and often give good suggestions, they're not always accurate. They're designed to guess what's right, which means sometimes they can be wrong, misleading or incomplete. As a school community, we're committed to safely promoting AI literacy and preparing our students for the future.

AI literacy involves understanding AI basics, its applications and its impact on education and society. Our goals include:

  • Introducing AI: Helping students understand what AI is, how it works and its limitations.

  • Encouraging critical thinking: Teaching students to evaluate AI's benefits and risks.

  • Fostering responsible use: Guiding students in using AI tools ethically.

  • Preparing for the future: Equipping students with skills for an AI-driven world.
