On December 23rd, the New York State Department of Health released revisions to the Test to Stay program currently operational in EICSD. The TTS program allows asymptomatic, unvaccinated school-based close contacts (e.g. students, teachers, school staff) to avoid school exclusion (but not other restrictions of quarantine) by testing negative through serial testing using rapid NAAT or antigen tests during a seven-day period following exposure. Under the new guidelines, students who are participating in the TTS program will not be required to test all seven days following exposure, rather, they must be tested a minimum of three times during the seven-day period. Consistent with the previous guidance, students participating in TTS must remain quarantined outside of the school instructional day and will not be allowed to participate in after school/evening events (no athletics, clubs or extracurriculars). Students may participate in the TTS program only with parent/guardian consent.
