At Helendale, they ended Black History Month with students in Ms. Tatlow's and Ms. Basile's class getting a special visit from Lola and Kylar's great grandfather and local musician, Eric Moore. He brought his electric bass guitar and taught their classes about different music periods. The students loved hearing him play and sing. HR students have been learning about influential Black and African American Musicians all month. #LancerPride

Mrs. Langdon's kindergarten class is a 100 Days Smarter! They created 100th Day Superhero capes, found 100 things, built 100 cup structures, painted 100 dots, read 100 words, finished 100 exercises and spent their day celebrating 100 days of Kindergarten! #LancerPride

Helendale students had some special visitors today!
Tricia DellAnno, author of “No Dog in my Yard” and “A Dog in my Yard,” came in to read her books aloud for everyone. Her father and his dog joined her, who helped inspire one of her books!

After reading the book 'The Winter Candle' by Jeron Ashford, Helendale students focused on demonstrating compassion, peacemaking, and generosity during the month of December. Any time a student showed one of these behaviors they were given a yellow heart to add to the wall to help grow the light of their candle. #LancerPride #WeAreEI
