Grade Interpretation and Class Rank

All grades are numerical. Class rank is determined under a weighted point system that takes into account the academic level of courses:

  • Local and Regents Courses  - No weighting

  • Advanced Placement - 6 points

  • International Baccalaureate/PLTW - 6 points

Beginning with the 2024-25 school year, Eastridge High School is phasing in an Outcomes Based Grading System.  Grades are based on a 0-4 grading scale.  All overall GPAs  will be converted to the new grading scale based on the table below.

Students must earn at least a 1.6 or better to pass a course. Music lessons and physical education are not included in the class ranking process.  We anticipate terminating class rank for the 2025-2026 school year.

  • 0-64 = 1- 1.5

  • 65-69 = 1.6 - 1.9

  • 70-79 = 2.0 - 2.6

  • 80-89 = 2.7 - 3.3

  • 90-100 = 3.4 - 4.0
