Years working in EI? I was a teacher for 10 years at Laurelton-Pardee, left for a bit to be an assistant principal in Gates Chili, and then came back to the district just over 4 years ago now to be principal of LP! Graduate of? (HS & College) I graduated from Irondequoit High School in 1998. I then attended Monroe Community College, Brockport College, Nazareth College, and University of Rochester. It's been a grand tour of the Rochester colleges! Any special talents or passions? I'd like to think my ability to remember every student's name in my building is a special talent! The funny thing about that is it takes me forever to learn adult names; so odd! Favorite season & activity you like to do in that season? I think I love Fall the most; I love decorating my porch with fall colors and pumpkins, baking, apple picking, and definitely the cooler sweater weather. In your own words, what does it mean to be a Lancer? To me, being a part of this district is no different than being a parent to my two kids at home- I want more for our students than I do for myself, I want them to be more successful than they ever thought possible, I want them to struggle less, be safer than I ever was, and know that above all else they are loved and supported to be who they were made to be.
Ivan Green students in Mrs. VanVliet's class had a fall party to celebrate the season! Students participated in decorating pumpkins, fall BINGO, eating seasonal treats and making crafts. 🎃🍂

In loving memory of Judy Hughes, a dedicated EI parent and volunteer, her close friends Jerilyn Capotorto, Anna Ingrassio, Cindy Keller, and Betsy Hawes created the “Judy’s Backpacks for Kids” fundraiser. Today, they presented a generous check for $10,500 to the Irondequoit Community Cupboard. This donation will support the Weekend Backpack program, providing essential food to students in the Irondequoit community over the weekends. #LancerPride
