Katie Bryce’s 3rd grade students at DE had a special visit from County Legislator Dave Long as part of the school's Agriculture Literacy Month activities with Monroe County's 4-H youth development team. They read a book all about growing pumpkins and got to try out a pumpkin pie recipe.

For Read Across America Week, Ivan Green students had a special author visit from Linda Acito today! They had the chance to hear her read some of her books and get their own copies signed. 📚📖🌟

The Board of Elections held assemblies for Eastridge US History classes, teaching high schoolers how to navigate the voting process. They assisted students with voter registration and provided a hands-on tutorial on how to use voting machines and cast their ballots. 🗳️😊

6th graders in Ms. Davis’s class conducted an AVID TRIAD Socratic Seminar about Black Caesar, a real life 18th century Black pirate, as a finale to Black History Month. The scholars learned that Black Caesar was a lieutenant of Blackbeard and made the challenging decision to pursue piracy rather than return to a life of enslavement. 🏴☠️🦜
